Bokrijk is a domain of 550 ha and includes, besides the museum (ca. 94 ha), a castle, service buildings, an arboretum, a playground, a nature reserve (Het Wik) and a forest and recreation area. The Bokrijk Open Air Museum shows the - cultural, landscape and natural - heritage of Flanders from the 16th century and beyond: a collection of historic buildings, authentic objects, living heritage and an unlimited number of rituals, techniques, practices and stories to experience. Bokrijk has a collection from all over Flanders. A collection that includes very diverse forms of heritage. The Bokrijk open-air museum offers the visitor a modern look at the history of daily life in the past.
