Do you love birds and nature? Then you shouldn’t leave Zeebrugge before you paid a visit to Het Zwin; a gorgeous natural reserve that is abounding with (migratory) birds. No wonder it’s sometimes called ‘the international airport for birds’. Come and explore it… by foot, bike or on horseback!
If you need to recover from all that nature, you can rest your legs at the bistro or go on a trinket-hunt at the shop.
Really unique in Flanders is the trail ‘Zwinduinen en –polders’, as most of this route can be independently followed by the blind, partially sighted and wheelchair users.
The Zwin is currently undergoing a major expansion… into the Netherlands! A good excuse to visit it next year as well… and the following year!
Tip: book your tickets online and get a discount, or reserve a guided tour!
